The Reims Christmas market: effervescence at the gateway to Paris!
At the gateway to Paris (just 45 minutes by TGV), Notre-Dame Cathedral in Reims will once again offer the most majestic setting imaginable for a Christmas Market that features 145 stalls. The Cathedral square and adjacent streets provide an exceptional setting for festivities. Having browsed the stalls, overflowing with delicacies and treasures, what could be more magical than a glass of bubbly on the big wheel? It's a treat you could only enjoy in Reims... sipping a glass of champagne above the illuminated city.
See you at the Cathedral!
Open every day from 10:30 am to 8 pm (from 2 pm to 8 pm on Mondays), with late opening until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, the 21st edition of the Christmas market will take place at two UNESCO world heritage sites: the Cathedral and Palace of Tau. As in previous years, you can visit 145 stalls filled with the best in artisanal, decorative, gastronomic and festive produce.
In addition to the traditional stalls, the very popular Children's Kingdom will also spread wonder, allowing children to enjoy playful and creative activities: meeting Father Christmas, miniature train, recreational workshops, free ice skating, wooden toys... Just next door, don't miss out on the Craft Market (jewellery, glass, ceramics, embroidery...) in the Palace of Tau courtyard.
The big wheel
Take a magical journey to the top of the big wheel, just a short walk from the Cathedral square on the place d'Erlon.
Getting to Reims
For a visit without restrictions, the TGV takes you to Reims from Paris-Est in 40 to 45 minutes. Reims is also just 30 minutes from Marne-la-Vallée and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. Reims is fortunate to have 2 TGV stations: Reims Centre (2 tram stops or 10-minute walk from the Christmas Market) and Champagne-Ardenne TGV (tram or 7 minutes via TER to Reims-Centre).
For those who prefer to travel by car and fill the boot with gifts, Reims is only 2.5 hours from Calais via the A26-E17 motorway. The city is also accessible from Paris in just 90 minutes using the A4-E50 motorway. Free parking is available at the entrances to the city and close to the 6 exits for the city.
For a weekend of effervescence
Reims is a year-round destination and although the Christmas Market is a must, there are many other discoveries waiting to be made in the city and surrounding areas: monuments, museums, Art Deco heritage, gastronomy, champagne cellars... A weekend is not enough!
